HRH The Princess Royal visits Joshua Ellis & Co. as part of 250th anniversary celebrations
The Princess Royal, who is President of the UK Fashion and Textile Association, visited Joshua Ellis & Co on 16th February to mark our 250th anniversary. It was a royal occasion to remember as she was given a tour of the offices and the entire production process at the mill where she met the staff, specifically seven members with long-service achievements .
Princess Anne unveiled a special plaque, signed in the visitor’s book and received a gift of a limited edition 250th anniversary fine cashmere scarf. She spoke of her gratitude for the visit and that the firm’s longevity will be a foundation for more success over the next century.
The company’s design director Kristie Reeves said: “We were thrilled that The Princess Royal was able to join us for our 250th anniversary celebrations and the staff have really enjoyed taking her behind the scenes of our fantastic mill.”
“There has been such a buzz in the air and we have given her a real insight into the incredible skills of our design and production experts who help to maintain Yorkshire’s position at the forefront of fine weaving in England.”
